Driving Student Progress

I’m an experienced education professional with 20 years of teaching and leadership experience across a range of successful secondary schools.

Throughout my career I have worked as an Advanced Skills Teacher- supporting and developing other teachers, a Head of English, an Assistant Headteacher and most recently Deputy Headteacher. I have led whole-school improvement, line-managed multiple departments, but my greatest joy has been my work developing students' ability to understand how they learn and become more successful scholars. Alongside senior leadership, I have spent my career helping students make exceptional progress in English, developing expertise in GCSE and A-Level preparation, exam performance and building confident, independent learners.

I have a proven track record of improving student outcomes, including leading significant improvements in GCSE and A-Level English results in challenging school contexts, as well as supporting students of all abilities to exceed expectations.

My approach to tutoring goes far beyond simply covering content. I focus on helping students develop the confidence, academic habits and independent learning strategies that lead to long-term success.
